Tryout Policies & Schedules


Assessments and Tryouts will be conducted in two segments (Hitting & Fielding). The fielding portion of the assessment/tryouts are conducted at Newport Hills Park and the the Hitting portion will be conducted at Stod's Batting Cages in Newport Hills. See below for this year's schedule.

Note: The second Pinto Tryout was originally scheduled for February 10th, but was rescheduled due to Snowpocalypse 2019. Hopefully everyone stayed safe in the snow!

Stods is a few blocks away at 5606 119th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98006

*There are no assessments for Shetland division and players will be assigned based on coaches and number of players registered. The teams will be formed in March and games will start in April.

**Your player only needs to attend one fielding session (Newport Hills park) and one batting session (Stod's) for their division.

  • No player can participate in any part of tryouts unless they are registered with the league AND registration is paid in full.
  • Players can register and pay on site at the beginning of the tryout they are attending.
  • Pony, Bronco, Mustang and Pinto players are required to participate in tryouts
  • Head coach and 2 assistant coaches are declared BEFORE start of division tryout
  • All players trying out will have a sign with a number on their back so coaches can identify players

Tryouts and Assessments will generally consist of two components:

  • Fielding (Newport Hills Park or Sierra Heights)
    • Playing catch
    • Fielding ground balls and flyballs
    • Baserunning
    • Pitching (not for Pinto)
  • Batting (Stod's)
  • Kids will get several rounds in a batting cage at Stod's
