Our Organization & Programs
Newcastle Baseball Club League
(NBCL) is a nonprofit volunteer-operated youth baseball organization affiliated
with the
PONY Baseball. The
PONY Baseball program was created for all players to be able to participate in
baseball. We want to Protect Our Nation's Youth (PONY) as
they grow into young men and women and leaders of tomorrow. PONY is a
community-based program for everyone in the family to enjoy.
NBCL PONY Baseball teams practice
and play home games in Newcastle and north-Renton. Players can live anywhere in western Washington (no
league boundaries), but are mostly from Newcastle, Renton, Issaquah and
Bellevue. NBCL PONY Baseball provides the opportunity to play with and against
your friends and not be preassigned to a league based on your home address or
school.
NBCL PONY Baseball offers
recreation divisions for players ages 4-14 that play a more competitive level
of baseball than non-PONY organizations at the same age groups with games from
late March until mid-June.
-- SHETLAND
6U division (ages 4-6) focuses totally on instruction of beginning players.
-- PINTO
8U (ages 7-8) division teaches the basic fundamentals of
baseball.
-- MUSTANG
10U (ages 9-10) division begins the players’ training in the complete game of
baseball.
-- BRONCO
12U (ages 11-12) and PONY 14U (ages 13-14) divisions take the developing young
players into the full game of baseball, with no restrictions on base stealing.
All-Star team opportunities range
from coach-pitch teams at 7U and 8U, and player-pitch teams from 8U through
14U. All-Star teams have the opportunity to play against both PONY All-Star
teams and Select teams with approximately 12-20 games between mid-June and
end-of-July.
NBCL PONY Baseball Mission
Statement
Foster,
promote and provide the opportunity for our local community to learn the game
of baseball, through teamwork, respect for others and healthy competition.
